Statement on 49th New Mon State Party's Founding Day

In July 20, 1958 Mon leaders such as Nai Shwe Kyin the former chairman of NMSP, and Nai Dhamma Nay founded New Mon State Party just after a big surrender under the leadership of the Mon People's Front (MPF).

Today we celebrate NMSP's Founding Day to pay tributes to our leaders and soldieries who have sacrificed their lives in the struggle and also to those, who are still struggling to get to our ultimate victory with a united and invaluable supports of Mon people.

We, New Mon State Party, are fighting for democracy and human rights with intention for Mons and all nationalities in Burma with long and short term strategy. Our mean aims are:
  • To build unity among the Mons.
  • To re-establish national reconciliation.
  • To call a nation-wide cease-fire and finding solution in the way of tripartite dialogue with the process involving the SPDC, the NLD, and the ethnic nationalities.
  • To form the multi-party democratic system.
  • To establish a genuine Federal Union of Burma.
